Caravan for Kids successfully utilized the free press to get PTA's message out statewide to California voters and Sacramento policymakers statewide.
Up and down California, ABC, NBC, Fox affiliates and independent TV stations covered Caravan for Kids. Every major daily newspaper in the state covered Caravan for Kids at least once including:
The Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union Tribune, North County Times, Orange County Register, LA Daily News, Santa Barbara News Press, Fresno Bee, Sacramento Bee, Contra Costa Times, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, San Bernardino Sun, San Jose Mercury News, Riverside Press Enterprise plus hundreds of local papers.

Here are the early reports from our local event organizers as divided by news market. The Local PTA leadership did a fantastic job.
- Bay Area: San Francisco, San Jose, Berkeley
-All radio stations covered: KQED (NPR), KCBS, KGO and local independent station KPFA
-Every TV network, plus Fox and Univision covered, including: KGO/ABC, covered both Berkeley and interviewed San Jose; KNBC/11, KPIX/CBS, KNTV/NBC; KTVU/Fox went live on from Sally Peyson Hayes' living room this morning, for Morning's on 2, the most widely watched local morning broadcast in the nation; they covered both the San Jose and SF events and are going live tonight from a Berkeley PTA Mom Hillary Kitka's house.
- Every A and B paper in the Bay Area is covering, including: two stories in the Chronicle, one political timed with an education poll commissioned by the Chronicle to coincide with C4K; and a Metro story about C4K, based on interviews with Carol Kocivar and Cynthia Papermaster; The Examiner/Independent, The San Jose Mercury News, The Oakland Tribune, (Tribune Article 2), the Berkeley Daily Planet, (Daily Planet Article 2 - scroll down); and the Montclarian.
