In 2000, alcohol-related crashes
killed 16,653 people. As blood
alcohol concentration increases,
so does the likelihood of collision.
Alcohol distorts eye focus, causing:
- Reduced control over light
- Diminished visual acuity
- Double vision
- Decreased ability to judge distance
- Reduced peripheral vision
- Diminished ability to distinguish colors
- Reduced night vision
